Communion Bread #1
Sift together 1 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 cup white flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt
Add 1 cup water, 1/3 cup honey, 3 tablespoons cooking oil (add a little more, if needed)
Mix until all ingredients are moistened; kneed until smooth.
On a lightly floured board, roll out dough to _ inch thickness.
Cut into 5 inch circles (the size of a 2 pound coffee can) and score a cross + deeply, but not through.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 - 12 minutes at 350°.
Brush with oil after baking. Cool 5 minutes.
Place warm bread in a plastic bag and close securely.
When completely cool, the bread may be frozen.
Allow 4-6 hours thawing time at room temperature before using.
Communion Bread #2
Measure into a bowl 1 cups flour, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Measure together and add to the above 1/2 cup very warm water, 1 tablespoon honey, 5 tablespoons oil
Mix and kneed till firm and smooth.
Roll onto floured board to 1/3 inch thickness.
Cut into large circles [2# coffee can].
Bake on greased sheet 10-15 minutes at 350º.
Two loaves are needed for the average communion service. Enjoy the rest yourself! It is too crumbly to be suitable for communion after it has been frozen and thawed.

Mix together:
3 c whole wheat flour, 3 c All-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp salt
Mix well together:
1 c water, 2/3 c liquid honey, 1/2 c cooking oil
Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and mix until dough form a ball
On lightly floured surface, knead dough 15 - 30 times
On lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4" to 1/2" thickness
Cut into rounds with a 2 lb. coffee tin
Place rounds on ungreased cookie sheet
Score a cross deeply but not all the way through each round
Bake at 350° - 400° F for approximately 10 - 12 minutes
Remove from oven and brush tops with cooking oil. Let stand 5 minutes
Place in plastic bag immediately and close securely. May be frozen when cooled
4 - 5 of these rounds are used for and average Sunday attendance (160)
