WHAT'S UP?

Congratulations!

We celebrated the Confirmation of six of our friends on May 16, 2010:

During the Affirmation of Baptism (that's what Confirmation is called), these six young people affirmed their faith by answering yes and asking for God's help with this:

“Do you intend to continue in the covenant God made with you in Holy Baptism: to live among God's faithful people, to hear God's Word and share in Christ's supper, to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed, to serve all people, following the example of our Lord Jesus, and to strive for justice and peace in all the earth?”

Summer Youth Calendar coming soon!

Our Youth Group at Christ Lutheran Church is made up mostly of congregational members aged 13-18, with friends joining us often. We have events planned by and for our youth group and led by our Coordinator of Youth Ministry and Volunteer Youth Leaders. We also participate in MNO Synod youth activities. Every second summer we attend the Canadian Lutheran Youth Gathering held in different Canadian cities scattered from coast to coast. We've traveled as far as Halifax, Whitehorse, and Vancouver (mostly by bus!) and as close as downtown Winnipeg.

MNO Synod Youth Worship is held the third Sunday of each month from October to May at a different congregations throughout the synod. This is a great chance to worship with other young people while led by a band. Come check it out to see and make friends, pray, share communion, and learn some new worship songs! As we revisit our congregational mission priorities, we hope to develop a stronger relationship with the community surrounding Christ Lutheran Church. We are open to building relationships through partnering for programming, offering up the use of our building, and exploring other opportunities to facilitate ongoing development of faith in the lives of young people. Please contact our Coordinator of Youth Ministry to explore ideas for community ministry with young people.
